English. C1884. 'Cowens' Walking Stick Knife and Slasher. 17cm steel head of Saw/Slasher slides up into leather covered steel lined wooden cradle that acts as handle. The leather covering the stem of the handle is embossed with 'SAW' on either side and the Cowen's logo. The slasher/saw is engraved 'Cowens' and the logo. The stick is polished thornwood with brass upper ring and a brass end mount with a pointed steel cap. Patented 1884. In exceptional original condition.
